Parts of Columbia are under re-development, including the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan, the Navy Broadway Complex and the Embarcadero Circle cruise ship terminal expansion. Currently two hotels along Pacific Highway and Broadway are scheduled to go under construction and a 41-story luxury condominium tower west of Electra is rumored to go under development sometime in 2015.
Columbia District is home to the historic Santa Fe Depot which is the second busiest Amtrak rail corridor in the country. Santa Fe Depot is served by the Trolley, the Coaster and the Pacific Surfliner. Columbia District is also home to the County Waterfront Park which opened in May of 2014.
